Задумалась, а что говорить о слабых сторонах? Неужели все честно рассказывать:) ? Или как?

я ходила на собеседование в кадровое аг-во Анкор и взяла у них брошюрку по поводу собеседований. Там было написано примерно следующее (дословно не воспроизведу, она где-то затерялась):
постарайтесь преподнести свои сильные стороны, как слабые. Что-то подобное. На первый взгляд чушь-чушью. Но суть там примерно такая:
вместо того, чтобы сказать, что вы нерешительны, можно сказать - я не люблю принимать скоропалительные решения, предпочитаю предварительно все обдумать. Или же - я быстро принимаю решения, что многие принимают за нетерпеливость.

Я после собеседования в Анкоре, где меня попросили на английском рассказать о сильных своих сторонах, перевела часть этой брошюры на английском.

Tell us something about yourself.
This question is asked at every interview. There’s some forms of this question: “Determine three main points of your resume”, “What would you like to tell us”, “What are your duties at present job”. You can tell about your education and experience in 2-minutes compact answer at the same time you can underline that you are the prime candidate for this vacancy.

Why did you choose this job (company, education)?
You’d better to give serious arguments such as opportunity of growth, useful experience etc.

Did you get another offers for job?
If you got you’d better to say about it, it can improve your chances. Besides you can add that this offer is more attractive for you.

Will your private life disturb your work connected with traveling and nonnormalized working day?
This question is more frequent asked women. The law prohibits employer to take interest does candidate’s marital status influence on their work. Be calm and answer on similar questions “no”.

What are your strong points?
You should underline your quality useful for this job at first. You can confirm it by the examples from your student or work life.

What are your weak points?
Don’t give an insincere answer for this question. For example: “My failing is exceeding responsibility”. So interviewer can think that you avoid answer. You’d better say about shortage that can be logic continue of your advantages. For example: “Sometimes people take my decision for impatience. But now I always follow my manner in express a thought”.

Why do you want to get exactly this job?
Answering this question you should underline those qualities that can be useful on this job. Demonstrate that you are abreast of company’s activity. Remember that absence of knowledge about company and its branch is the main cause of failure.

Why did you decide to change the job?
To tell about conflict at previous work especially to charge previous employer isn’t recommended. You can tell about another reason. For example: “I’m not sure I’ll be useful for company more because of forthcoming reorganization”, “I can’t fully realize my potential”, “I can’t see opportunity of professional growth”. If interviewer knows about conflict at previous job, explain without details that it was unique case connected with special circumstances. At the same time you must underline all positive factors in previous job: acquired experience, useful attainments etc. Talking about reasons that make you to change job you should say about attractiveness of new job not about displeasure of previous.

How could you represent your status in five (ten) years?
You’d better to speak evasively: “I would like to work in this company in more responsible position”.

What’s your preference in salary?
You’d better to avoid the question saying that on your opinion it’s not the priority question for discussion. If interviewer insists, try to find out about company’s point of view. If you’re obliged to answer, you should say sum some higher than average, or highest and smallest ranges of expected sum.

What are your major achievements?
Earlier schedule a list of your greatest achievements for the last five years. If you can measure it, it’ll be good.

What else would you like to know?
Don’t say that you have no any more questions. You can ask about your future duties, what does company expect from the candidate for this vacancy, why did man taking this place quit or define more exactly something that remains after previous talk.

What will be your first steps, if you get this job?
Candidates for manager and administrative positions are often asked this question. In this case you should demonstrate acquaintance with such situations and skills of displaying initiative. But not go too far demonstrating your availability to change the world. Beware of offering any transformation if you had no chance to get to know with company state of play.

What means “good chief” on your opinion?
This question is used for recovering are you conflict person. The best answer is “Competent, strong leader who can give useful for his workers”.
